BCOM (Burundi Community Outreach Missions) was founded in 2014 by two Kenyan missionaries—Bernard Mungai Ngugi and Jane Kamau — who said ‘yes’ to God’s call to leave their beloved country, Kenya, and move to a completely foreign land.

Sounds familiar?

They were commissioned by Janes Ochieng, founder of Hope Celebration Christian Church Makongeni, in Thika, Kenya, in the presence of other ministers, family and friends, as well as the congregation.

“We didn’t know much about Burundi, but one day in September 2011, as I was taking a shower, God visited me and said: ‘Jane, take my true gospel to Burundi’. Seven months later, in April 2012, we were commissioned as volunteer missionaries to Burundi.”

Official Registration

BCOM was legally registered in March 2020 and shares the Word and the Love of Christ with a goal of improving lives through socio-economic development, in partnership with churches and other organizations.

We are committed to uniting communities to fight inherent poverty, illiteracy and division through the light of God and pulling together resources for the common good.

Our Mission

Burundi Community Outreach Missions (BCOM) exists to impact Burundi through powerful intercession, the proclamation of God’s Word, and the demonstration of Christ’s love. We seek to transform lives by promoting socio-economic development in partnership with churches and organizations, while fostering unity in the Body of Christ through prayer, training & teaching, collaboration, and the sharing of resources.

Our Vision

We are called to be filled with the Holy Spirit, transformed by His power, and sent as Christ’s witnesses—empowering others to rise and impact the nations.

Acts 1:8  - “But I promise you this —the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be filled with power. And you will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces — even to the remotest places on earth!”
