Health & Sanitation
Due to the political and economic challenges that Burundi has been through, the health sector has not developed to offer good health services to the people. Access and affordability of health services remain an uphill task for the poor. Children and women suffer the most.
BCOM has been organizing medical outreaches where community members are sensitized to health and also given health services. The organization is also mobilizing resources to pay for health services for those who have diseases that cannot be treated in the country.
We share basic needs with vulnerable communities especially the Batwa. We train on hygiene, cleanliness, disinfecting jiggers as well as sharing collected clothes, shoes, soaps, school materials, and other basics items from well-wishers locally, regionally, and internationally.
