Women & Youth Empowerment
Colossians 3:23-24 & Psalms 90:17
From the year 2017, BCOM has been involved in empowering the youth and women through capacity building and entrepreneurship. Youths have been equipped to open companies and business enterprises which have increased their income and helped them overcome poverty.
These and other youth enterprises have been natured through free consultancy and training services. We are also training women in small businesses on capacity building, business, and financial management as well as good farming techniques and value addition.
In 2017, when Jane made the decision to go into full-time ministry, she, along with her husband Bernard believed their business would flourish to support the ministry. However, the Lord said to her, “Jane, don’t be selfish! Share your business skills with young people in Burundi for free, I have ways to stand with my work!
Jane said, “I took time to allow it to sink deep and also pray for strategy and the right people.” Late the same year, she met two enthusiastic young men on scholarship with whom she trained about investments. They both co-founded a company in 2017 and another one in 2018. Both companies have at least 60 young shareholders.
